Project Background
We are honored to have been chosen a Duracell Project’s OEM partner for the Spring of 2026, including being featured in their Episode 209 on YouTube. We are very pleased that the Duracell Project chose to install The Torrid Marine MVS18-2IX2EL Explorer Series marine water heater for their new yacht.
All Explorer Series marine water heaters feature two independent electrical heating sources and two independent integrated coolant-based heat capture coils to efficiently heat a yacht’s domestic hot water. For their hot water heating needs, Duracell will have 120 VAC and 48 VDC electrical options. It will also have thermostatically controlled, coolant-based, genset waste heat capture. Fortunately, they are a short drive from our World Headquarters which has allowed us to work closely with them to design and install a state-of-the-art marine water heating system on The Duracell Project.
The project has been rewarding for everyone involved; we have been working with them for more than a year sharing concepts, best practice ideas and desired outcomes. Our collaboration has taken into consideration the primary purpose of the yacht, the characteristics of its family owners, their yachting experience and the related boat systems. This will maximize the synergy gained by designing a hot water system from the ground up as an integral system component rather than as an afterthought.
To celebrate our collaboration, we are working with our related company, Torrid Marine, the manufacturer of the Duracell Project’s Explorer Series marine water heater, to make Torrid products available directly to the viewers and the Patreons of The Duracell Project with special pricing.
